CCTV Chinese Mother and Chinese Heroine Contest, the world's leading Chinese platform to praise the virtues of mothers

Co-organised by the leading cultural organisations of the British Chinese and overseas Chinese communities in the UK, the 2021 fifth CCTV Chinese Mother and Chinese Heroine UK division officially launched on International Mother’s Day.


The award ceremony of each stage of the competition will be held on July 1, October 1, and New Year's Day in 2022.


The organising committee invites Jane Maria, the celebrated soprano singer and international cultural ambassador, as the vice chairman of the organising committee and judge of this series of activities.

16,000 online viewers participated in the launching ceremony of the fifth "CCTV Chinese Mother and Chinese Heroine" UK division in the Boshang Broadcaster’s International Live Studio.


A wonderful performance by outstanding artists praising mothers and female virtues was broadcast at the ceremony. Soprano Jane Maria was invited to bring an original work "Jiangnan Ladies", opera singing with the beautiful Chinese folk music band, gentle but majestic.


It fully embodies the style of modern Chinese women and has won many praises and loves.

"The world is rooted in the country, and the country is rooted in the family", and the root of the family and the country lies in the mother.


The accomplishment of women is an important criterion to measure social civilization, and the accomplishment of women determines the future of a country and nation.


This competition will further improve the aesthetic awareness and standards of Chinese women by searching for excellent mothers of truth, kindness and beauty around the world, so that Chinese women will become the inheritors and propagandists of oriental beauty, both inner and outer.


At the same time, it arouses widespread attention and support from the society for the various challenges faced by mothers, improves the society's awareness of filial piety, and makes the family and society more harmonious.


The competition is dedicated to pass on beauty and wisdom to more women, influencing and driving the revival of maternal love and moral culture of a family and even a nation.

Conditions for Participation

1) Ladies of Chinese descent who hold legal residence in the UK

2) At least 18 years old, no upper limit

4) Education level of GCSE or above

3) Those with children can apply for the Chinese Mother Contest, and those without children or unmarried women can apply for the Chinese Heroine Contest

The "Filial Piety to the world" was launched in 2013, Beijing by Zhou Tienong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People's Congress, Vice Chairman of the Ninth and Tenth National Committee For the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Wu Yushao, Deputy Director of the Office of the National Working Commission on Aging. "Together, let's set off again!" the online press conference for the launching of 11th "Cultures Of China-Water Cube Cup" Chinese Songs Contest was held in Beijing on June 10. The Water Cube Cup singing competition, a national-level overseas Chinese affairs cultural brand, has been incorporated into the "Cultural China" system of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council since 2017. The competition was successfully held for ten consecutive years. More than 30,000 contestants from more than 30 countries and 50 competition areas participated in the competition. It has become the most important music and cultural event in the global Chinese community.
