2022 BRTV(Beijing Radio & Television Station) Spring Festival Online Gala, a key cultural project in China to support Winter Olympics 2022

In February 2022, the Winter Olympics meets the Chinese Year. The eyes of the world are once again focused on China, and on this prosperous engagement between the Chinese Spring Festival and the Olympics.


Beijing Radio and Television Station (BRTV) took this opportunity to jointly launch "Crossing the Sea of People Just to Meet - 2022 BRTV Spring Festival Online Gala" together with TikTok.


The gala was divided into 12 parts. The 6.5-hour event took stock of the annual online hotspots in 2021, interspersed with talent performances, food production and other content to create a lively and fragrant Spring Festival cultural feast.

The celebrated soprano singer, International Cultural Ambassador Jane Maria joined hands with 43 major Chinese communities in the UK to present the public welfare video "Together For A Shared Future" in support of the Beijing Winter Olympics to express their heartfelt wishes for their motherland's global prosperity, and it was broadcast to represent overseas Chinese at the finale of the gala.


The gala was connected to the live broadcast room of the most popular and positive energy anchors of the Chinese online platforms.


While the online anchors showed their performances, they also sent blessings to the Winter Olympics on behalf of hundreds of millions of Chinese netizens.

The 2022 BRTV Spring Festival Online Gala has been reported to the National Radio and Television Administration of the People's Republic of China, as a key cultural project in Beijing in 2022 to "Join Hands to Welcome the Winter Olympics and Celebrate the New Year with One Heart".


The gala was broadcast live simultaneously in the two studios of the main venue and the branch venue.


The sub-venues are interspersed with live broadcast sales, sharing traditional Beijing time-honored brands, Chinese rural products and Chinese intangible cultural heritage products in the most fashionable and modern way, showing the origins of the ancient Silk Road and modern trade.

The gala was broadcast on "BRTV Beijing Time", TikTok, as well as CCTV News+, China Youth Daily, People's Daily, Beijing Daily, Baidu, Youku, Tencent, Phoenix, NetEase, Inke, Kuliu, Huajiao, iQiyi etc., a total of 21 large-scale live broadcast platforms simultaneously.

The "Filial Piety to the world" was launched in 2013, Beijing by Zhou Tienong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Eleventh National People's Congress, Vice Chairman of the Ninth and Tenth National Committee For the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Wu Yushao, Deputy Director of the Office of the National Working Commission on Aging. "Together, let's set off again!" the online press conference for the launching of 11th "Cultures Of China-Water Cube Cup" Chinese Songs Contest was held in Beijing on June 10. The Water Cube Cup singing competition, a national-level overseas Chinese affairs cultural brand, has been incorporated into the "Cultural China" system of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council since 2017. The competition was successfully held for ten consecutive years. More than 30,000 contestants from more than 30 countries and 50 competition areas participated in the competition. It has become the most important music and cultural event in the global Chinese community. This competition is jointly organised by Beijing Radio and Television Station, Beijing National Aquatics Center Co., Ltd., Beijing Artists Management Corp.,Ltd and IQIYI.  The online and offline methods will be combined to broadcast live on the official platforms of the competition: iQiyi, iQiyi Instant, Water-Cube official website, ChinaQW and media from participating countries.
