The International Police and Veterans Foundation (IPVF) Awards Ceremony was held in New York.
Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, President of the 74th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, received the Goodwill Ambassador Award,
former New York City Police Department deputy chief Charles Scholl received the Philanthropist Award,
Strategic Alliance of Asian-American Non-profit Organizations chairman H.E. Sir Jim Lin-Chi Chu, Ph.D received the Philanthropist Award,
former West Orange Deputy Mayor Dr. Gonzalo Velez and his wife Dr. Josie Velez received the Lifetime Achievement Award,
New York City Police Department Deputy Inspector and Commanding Officer of 109th Precinct John L. O’Connell received the Outstanding Leadership Award,
Sino American Commerce Association president Sir Dr. Gary Kong received the Philanthropist Award, and International Cultural Ambassador, soprano Jane Maria received the Philanthropist Award and was awarded the title of International Cultural Ambassador.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, New York City Councilman and New York City Auditor General Peter Koo and other Chinese representatives from all walks of life in New York attended the ceremony.

Bill DeBlasio, mayor of New York led the way in honoring notable leaders from the Asian community including Sir Dr Michael Leung PhD Chairman of the IPVF, Sue Ann Jung, Vice Chairwoman and Charity Director of the IPVF, Sir Jim Lin-Chi Chu, PH.D, New York City Councilman Peter Koo, Sir Dr. Gary Kong, New York City’s police chief, Rodney Harrison and many other community leaders and supporters.
The International Police & Veterans Foundation (IPVF) is a non-profit organization, and is duly recognized by the Attorney General of New York State.
IPVF membership consists of active and retired personnel, without distinction as to rank, sex, race, color, language or religion. IPVF promote global friendship and culture exchange among the law enforcement officers, veterans and all front-line first responders.
Through grant funding, corporate funding and private donations, IPVF aim to give recognition and support to the brave individuals; provide scholarships to their children and provide supports to their widows and family.
The International Police and Veterans Foundation (IPVF) also provides non-profit services such as elderly assistance, tax filling, food assistance, self-defense, and security patrols etc by establishing a branch, the Prosperous Community Foundation (PCF).
The purpose of the establishment of PCF is to empower the citizens of every neighbourhood with the skills and knowledge to create safer and more resilient communities.
PCF believes that Chinese communities not only have the responsibility, but the capacity to contribute to the safety and well-being of every New Yorker.
The Social Security Team under PCF has played a role in ensuring the safety of local communities.
During the global epidemic, the Social Security Team patrolled Asian communities and cooperated with local judicial authorities to supervise, making a decisive contribution to the safety of the Asian communities.
