The Confederation of Chinese Association in Scotland New Year's Renewal Celebration Gala was grandly held in the Grand Ballroom of the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, Scotland.
Danna Hou, Acting Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh; Annette Christie, Bailie of Glasgow; Douglas Dodds, Provost of Stirling; Jim Todd, Provost of East Ayrshire; Robert Bissett, Provost of Falkirk; Donald Balsillie, Provost of Clackmannanshire; Jim Leishman, Provost of Fife; Andy Chan, Bailie of Perth & Kinross; Tony Yip, Chairman of the City of London & Westminster Conservative Association Chinese Conservative Group, and other representatives from all walks of life in Scotland attended the gala.
Lui On Lee OBE, president of the Confederation of Chinese Association in Scotland, and Thomas Ho, the chief vice president, have served the confederation for 23 years, and officially handed over the affairs of the association to the new generation of overseas Chinese leaders Sai Wing Lee as the president and Lingyun Tian as the chief vice president.
Vice President Tina Yam was appointed as the chairman and has contributed to the Chinese society for 43 years, MS Yam will continue to support the work of the new presidents, and compose a new milestone of Sino-British friendship based on the concept of Hong Kong and China mainland as one family.
International cultural ambassador, singing star soprano Jane Maria, as a special guest performer, made thoughtful planning and arrangements for the program list.
As the headliner, Jane Maria not only undertook 7 programs (Solo recital generally has 10 programs), but also Jane Maria opened the show with 3 songs, finished the show with 3 songs + finale, and waited for 1 and a half hours in the middle in order to achieve the best overall effect of the show.

The Confederation of Chinese Association in Scotland was founded in 1983. It was initiated by a number of Hong Kong overseas Chinese associations in conjunction with the governments of Scottish cities and counties.
It adheres to the principle of "holding together for warmth, exchanging and helping each other, living in harmony, and uniting and contributing", aiming to promote the Chinese community and the Scottish mainstream society, exchanging cultures and inheriting the Sino-British friendship.

Over the past 40 years, The Confederation of Chinese Association in Scotland has received the support of the Chinese Consulate General in Edinburgh, Scottish governments at all levels, major associations, and all walks of life in Scotland. The confederation has led the Hong Kong and China mainland communities to join hands to build a Sino-British friendship bridge. It has grown all the way and become the largest alliance of Scottish Chinese associations overseas with 50 affiliated associations and significant international influence.
